What is DEPRESSION.
Depression is one of the most common mental health disorders and is caused by biological and environmental factors.
Depression impacts the way you feel, think, and interact with your daily activities.
Symptoms.
Depression can show up in many ways, not everyone experiences every symptom and some are more intrusive than others.
You may be experiencing some of these symptoms:
persistent sad, anxious, or “empty” mood
feelings of hopelessness
irritability
feelings of guilt, worthlessness
decreased energy or easily fatigued
moving or talking more slowly
restlessness
difficulty concentrating
experiencing difficulty with sleep (too much or too little)
change in appetite
thoughts of death or suicide
Coping & Healing.
Physical activity, healthy eating, and a good sleep routine are great steps to reduces your depression.
Increase time with others. If you don’t have trusted friends/family, you may consider joining a group focused on an area you used to find interesting.
Set realistic goals. If life has been extra challenging, don’t expect to accomplish tasks as if you have 100% battery life. Try and break down those tasks into smaller steps.
